Yesterday my husband and I started training for a half marathon in November. I have run 5k’s and one 10k but never a half marathon. We set out on the run and it was almost noon! Too late to start in this Louisiana heat! Jon took the jogging stroller with our 4 month old daughter in it and I followed behind. You see, I am much, much slower than my husband. In fact, when I run with him, I run faster. We ran 3.1 miles. I finished in 39 minutes. That is slower than my first 5k. But my first 5k was in NC where it was much cooler! I finished the run and am looking forward to tomorrow’s run (which should be in the morning). Today was our rest day and boy was I lazy. I even indulged in fried pickles. But I am working on eating better so that I am healthy. I also need to eat healthy to be a good example to my kids. I love vegetables but they still haven’t found that same love for vegetables! I have a long way to go to get into shape for the half marathon, but I am looking forward to it!
